On Traveling (Apo Island/Apo Reef 022015)

Travel while you're young. Travel while you're getting old. Travel until you've had your fill of adventures, experiences, and life lessons. Feed that lust to explore and be the wanderer that you truly are. Never be afraid of the sun, the ocean, or the mountains, for they are friends like all the wonderful people you'll meet along the way. Never be the person who's is full of "I wish" and be the one with all the "I've been to" and "I did this."

Talk to locals and appreciate their kindness. Share stories, and laughter, and memories. Remember to leave a part of your soul in every destination, for it will also enrich yours in ways you can never imagine. Forget about work, problems, and worries, for these will stop you from seeing the beauty laid out in front of you.

Take a deep breath and dive, swim, climb, or run with all your might. Lay in the sand and learn that it's the best kind of bed. Eat food prepared outdoors from scratch and notice that it's the most awesome kind of meal. Savor everything for you can never replicate it in the city.

Don't worry about bruises and scratches, for they are the best souvenirs to have -- the destination giving you a permanent reminder that you have conquered it (or that it has conquered you.) Travel while you're young. Travel while you're getting old. Travel until you've had your fill of what life has to offer.
